Dow Corning® Active Protection System S7-005 (PDF: 322k) offers the most impact protection in the S-Range. Using just two layers satisfies the demanding standards of high-impact collisions like those experienced in motorcycling and snowboarding and passes European EN1621-1:1997.
S7-005 also functions for protection from medium-energy collisions like those experienced in many sports, including contact sports. Depending on the level of protection required, one or two layers can be utilized. With breathability and washability both being very good, this material is perfect for base-layer garments in sports, especially in combination with COOLMAX®1 fabrics.
S7-007
Offering slightly lower levels of protection than S7-005, Dow Corning® Active Protection System S7-007 (PDF: 241k) is both light in weight and very soft. The softness comes from the clever way S7-007 has been created, leaving one side very soft and the other side loaded with protection. Because of its softness, lightness, breathability and washability, S7-007 is excellent in garments that are worn close to the skin for long periods of time or where the wearer gets very hot. Examples include base-layer apparel for sports, emergency services and medical applications.
S5-004
Dow Corning® Active Protection System S5-004 has been specially created for garments or equipment exposed to low-level impacts such as those experienced from kicks or blows in sports like soccer or martial arts. Being light, breathable and washable, this product works well in soccer shin guards, passing the impact standard of European shin guard standard EN13061.
How to Use
The S-Range products can be cut into different shapes and sewn into garments or pockets. To avoid rough edges, binding tape should be used. Three-dimensional shapes can be created by using elasticated binding tape around the edges. This can be beneficial if used for knee, elbow or shoulder protection, giving garments shape and form.

Exceptionally high impact protection levels TP3-001 Natural
Dow Corning® Active Protection System TP3-001 (PDF: 177k) is our thinnest Active Protection System product, being only 3 mm thick and weighing 1.2 kg·m-2. It comes perforated with holes to maximize airflow and remove unnecessary weight from the system. TP3-001 is good for the protection of equipment and personal property.
TP3-002 Natural
Dow Corning® Active Protection System TP3-002 is the same as TP3-001 except without perforation and thus a higher weight of 1.5 kg·m-2. TP3-002 gives designers the option to create their own perforation pattern to achieve the desired overall appearance and impact protection performance.
TP8-001 Natural
Dow Corning® Active Protection System TP8-001 (PDF: 176k) offers very high levels of protection. It is 8-mm thick and weighs approximately 3 kg·m-2. TP8-001 is a very versatile product, offering great protection at the levels required for motorcycle back protection, as well as satisfying the requirements for low-energy impacts such as those experienced in soccer.
TP8-002 Natural
Dow Corning® Active Protection System TP8-002 is the same as TP8-001 except without perforation. This gives designers the option to create their own perforation patterns.

How to Use
The TP-Range allows significant customization to achieve exciting visuals and the desired levels of comfort and protection. Products are available in either non-perforated or pre-perforated form. The non-perforated forms allow the designer to create patterns and designs to maximize performance and appearance for the targeted market. The pre-perforated versions have been carefully developed to meet the performance requirements of specific applications.
Three-dimensional shapes can be created by thermoforming cut pieces. The edges can be thermoformed to create smooth, tapered edges.
